HOSPITALITY (THOUGHTS ON GENESIS 18; 3 AND GENESIS 19; 2)


One thing that is missing in the society now is Hospitality. You hardly see people accommodating others even those they know. This is so evident that people who are “neighbors” are strangers to each other (strange neighbors).


However, hospitality is very important in your walk and work with God. Doing well to all is very important no matter how small. Most times, it is not the size of good you do rather the size of the heart you do it with.
When last did you help a stranger, when last did you go out of your way to be a blessing to someone who cannot reward you? Do you know that many have entertained angels thinking they were strangers? Today learn from Abraham and Lot. Go out of your way to be an agent of goodness to strangers, it can be as simple as a cup of cold water on a hot day, it can be helping an elderly to cross a busy road, it can be sending a text to an old friend. The Bible pointed out clearly, that we should not weary in doing good.
If you noticed, the blessing and salvation of Abraham and Lot came as a result of the good they did. Your breakthrough and success can come in form of a person in need, and as you go all out to be a blessing to someone, God will surely bless you.

Who are you? Who is man? In creation the Divine wisdom had a particular flow of creativity, however, during the making of man, there was a change of creative orientation. All other creations were CREATED but man was MADE. So God did not create man like other life forms, rather He made man. This is very important to note because the making of man followed a succinct, careful and detailed approach. Man happens to be Gods replica in existence. God reproduced Himself in man. There was an extra creativity involved in the making of the IMAGE and LIKENESS of Divinity (that is man). In Genesis, the creational pattern reveals that the making of man started spiritually. God first made man of the spirit, before man of the flesh (Gen. 1: 26). The spiritual man had no way to perform, fulfill and exercise his physical mandates even though he exists spiritually.
